Tips for pilgrims
- Install before you leave home, while you have Wi-Fi; switch it on after landing.
- Keep your own SIM on for calls and SMS from your bank; use the eSIM for data.
- Travelling on via Turkey, Egypt or the Gulf? A regional plan below covers several countries.
- Video calls use about 0.5 GB per hour — a daily or larger plan suits a 9–15-day trip.

How eSIM works
- Choose your destination and a plan with enough data for your trip.
- Scan the QR code on your phone (Settings → Mobile data → Add eSIM).
- Turn on the eSIM and data roaming when you arrive — you are online.
Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones from the last few years do: iPhone XS and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and many others. The phone must not be carrier-locked. On many phones, dialling *#06# shows an EID when eSIM is supported.
Frequently asked questions
When should I install the eSIM?
Install it a day before your trip while you have Wi-Fi. Most plans start counting when the eSIM first connects at your destination.
Can I keep my own number on WhatsApp?
Yes. Your WhatsApp stays on your own number; the eSIM only provides mobile data.
What does "per day" mean?
A daily plan gives you a fresh data allowance every day for the number of days you choose. Fixed plans give one amount of data for the whole period.
How much data do I need?
Maps, chat and social media use about 0.5–1 GB a day; video calls and streaming much more. A daily plan or an unlimited plan avoids running out.
Can I get a refund?
If a purchase fails or the provider cancels it, your balance is refunded automatically. Once the eSIM profile is issued it can’t be cancelled or refunded — check that your phone supports eSIM before you buy.
